Marian P. Meyer, 78, Peru, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Hamilton Trace, Fishers, Indiana.  

Born January 1, 1939, in Quincy, Illinois, she was the daughter of David and Hilma Holmes Sheer.  She was married to Ronald R. Meyer, and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2002.

Marian was an avid gardener of both vegetables and flowers, although miniatures roses were a favorite, and she obtained her Master Gardener certification through Purdue University.   She was a great cook and excelled in canning, putting up each harvest to enjoy throughout the year and to share with family and friends.  Marian volunteered with LoveWay therapeutic horseback riding for over thirty years and was on their board of directors for five years in the late 1980’s.  She loved trail riding with her beloved horse of thirty-three years, Streak.  Together, they raised thousands of dollars for LoveWay in the Great Race.  In recent years, Marian was able to travel to Ireland, Greece, Rome, and Hawaii.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peru, Indiana.

Survivors include one sister, Marie (Glen) Williams, Lone Jack, MO; one son, Eric Meyer, Fishers; daughter-in-law, Lynn Meyer, Goshen; and five grandchildren, Damian, Nathan, Hunter, Dylan, and Heather Noelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Randy and Rockwell “Rocky” Meyer, and her beloved horse, Streak.
