Cara Elizabeth Sheppard, 29, Peru, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru, from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Born October 23, 1987, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Mitchell Harold Sheppard and the former Shelley Jo Shimer.

Cara had a kind heart, and she was always willing to step in to help a family member of friend in their time of need.  She had worked at McDonald’s and loved cooking, horses, and riding motorcycles.

She is survived by her mother, Shelley (Darrel) Tanner, Bunker Hill; father Mitchell (Lillian) Sheppard, North Carolina; children, Skieleigh Marie Sheppard and Kit Christopher Fisher; maternal grandmother, Judy Shimer (Howard) Hicks, North Carolina; maternal great-grandmother, Narcie Elizabeth Ball, Georgia; fiancé Charles Jeffrey Fisher and his children, J.D. and Julia Fisher, all of Bunker Hill; siblings, Matthew J Tanner, Peru; Mark B. Bryant, Delaware; Chris Bryant, Delaware; Carrie A. Smith, Peru; Laura Rivera, Warsaw; Michael G. Sheppard, Peru; Scott Anthony Sheppard, Peru; and Christopher Sheppard, North Carolina; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Brandie Leigh Steele.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2017, at McClain Funeral Home, 3500 West State Road 16, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Lew McKinney officiating.  Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Bunker Hill.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
