David Edward Murphy

David Edward Murphy, 73, formerly of Denver, passed away 2:10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at LifeCare Center of Rochester. 

Born on March 19, 1949, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Lyman E. “Bud” and Marcella M. (Hartish) Murphy.

David was a 1968 graduate of North Miami High School. He had lived at Peak Community Services in Logansport since the death of his mother and before moving to Rochester.  He was an AVID North Miami sports fan, and cheered on his alma mater at every chance he could attend.  He also enjoyed other sports, especially Notre Dame and Colts football.  

Survivors include his sister, June R. Brown, Mexico; three nieces, Amy (Jeff) Davenport, Denver; Stacey (Calvin) Boomhower, Rochester; and Melissa (Tony) Newman, Fishers; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and several cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 at McClain Funeral Home, with his cousins officiating.  Burial will follow in Chili Community Cemetery, Chili.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
