Farmer Baker, 84, Macy, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Born February 15, 1940, in Big Rock, Leslie County, Kentucky, he was the son of Reuben and Ollie (Baker) Baker. On June 7, 1963, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to Alma Jean Malott, and she survives.
He graduated from high school in Kentucky before moving north to Indiana. He attended Deedsville Community Church in Deedsville, and over the years, he had worked at Wallace Wood Factory, Peru, IN; Stella Cheese, Peru, IN; Vanguard Fencing, Denver, IN; Markhon, Wabash, IN; and Deardoff’s Dairy Farm, Macy, IN. He was a devoted UK Basketball fan, enjoyed woodworking, watching John Wayne, working in his garden, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters Kathy Enyart, Fort Wayne; and Lisa (Philip) Piotter, Macy; four grandchildren, Jessica (Josh Smith) Piotter, Macy; Dawn (Terry Boyd) Piotter, Deedsville; Alicyn (Zachary) Carter, Fort Wayne; and Arron Enyart, Fort Wayne; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Bronxyn, Swayzee and Krue Smith; and Adaline and Avery Boyd; one sister, PollyJane Sizemore, Kentucky; and three brothers, Henderson Baker, Birchal Baker, and Felix Baker, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Ryker Smith; five brothers, Ora Baker, Forester Baker, Rufus Baker, Henry Baker, and Finley Baker; and a special nephew, Todd Malott.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 13, 2024, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Bill Babb officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
