Jill Renee (Horton) Reffitt

Jill Renee (Horton) Reffitt, 55, Peru, passed away 3:43 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. 

Born September 8, 1967, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Bobby Gene Horton and Wilma Jean Butler Horton.  On June 23, 2007, in Peru, Indiana, she was married Carl Edward “Sapp” Reffitt, who survives.

Jill was a 1986 graduate of Maconaquah High School and had worked at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru. She was an avid fisherman, enjoyed horseback riding and eagle watching, and exercising her green thumb in her garden.  She also loved shopping (especially finding a bargain) and spending time with her family.  Christmas was her favorite holiday and she enjoyed decorating and collecting nutcrackers in addition to her favorite past-time at home—CLEANING!

Survivors include her husband, Carl Reffitt, Peru; three children, Taylor (Justin) Vigar, Wabash; Leanndra Wilson, Peru; Karhli Wilson, Peru; grandchildren, Lilli Koonce, Harper Wilson, and Cole and Nolan Vigar; two sisters, Pam Coleman and Bobbi (Terry) Kern; and several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving are her fur-babies, Whoopy, Tuffy, Macie, and Aries, and many grand-dogs.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Janna Kay Horton; one brother, Perry Dewayne Coleman; in addition to a a niece, Megan Brittany Horton.  

A celebration of life will be held from 2-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2022, at Whitetail Lodge, 909 N Eel River Rd. Peru.
