Jimmie Ritchie Obituary

Jimmie F. Ritchie, 68, Macy, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Born May 21, 1953, in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of Hershel and Beulah Mae (Smith) Ritchie.  On June 2, 1972, in Macy, Indiana, he was married to Phyllis Joan Slisher, and she survives.

He had worked as a machine operator for many places, the last being Touby Pike Recycling, Kokomo.  After retiring from full-time employment, he worked for the Town of Macy.  He loved spending time with his family, cooking, camping, and Eagle Watching.  He loved going with his wife to parks and enjoying the beauty of nature, especially France Park.  

Survivors include his wife Phyllis Ritchie, Macy; two daughters, Maryanne (Charles) Rude, Kewanna; and Michelle (Shawn) Eisaman, Peru; six grandchildren, Jimmie Rude, Billy (McKenna)Rude, Josh (Mikayla) Rude, Belle Eisaman, Lexi Eisaman, and Nick Eisaman; one great-grandson, Levi Rude; five siblings, Hershel Ritchie, Ohio; Bill Ritchie, Ohio; David Ritchie, Georgia; Doug Ritchie, Georgia; and Sheila Wright, Kokomo.

Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lola Mercer; and three brothers, Hiram “Buddy” Ritchie, Lloyd Ritchie, and Rick Ritchie.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana.  

The funeral service will be private, burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Macy.
