Jo Elaine (Zartman) Willis

Jo Elaine Willis, 69, Macy, Indiana, passed away at 12:46 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at her mother’s home in rural Macy.

Born August 11, 1950, in Fulton County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Forest “Bud” and Harriet R. Hoehne Zartman.  On December 2, 1972, in Mexico, Indiana, she was married to Benny J. Willis, and he preceded her in death on January 16, 2007.  

A faithful Christian, Jo was a lifelong member of the Fulton Baptist Temple.  She graduated from Caston High School in 1968 and worked for many years at Logansport Memorial Hospital.  After retiring from the hospital, she worked at McClain Funeral Home in Denver, Indiana.  She loved spending time with her friends and family.  

Survivors include her mother, Harriet R. Zartman, Macy; brother, Randy P. Zartman, Macy; seven nephews, Tony (Robin) and Curt Willis, Tennessee; Silas (Tenille) Zartman, Wabash; Jarod (Marianne) Zartman, Russia; Robert, Fred, and Michael Sandefur, Kentucky; two nieces, Alicia (Rich) Hall, Oregon; and Erica (Marc) Heater, Royal Center; one great-niece, Elzie Mae Zartman, Wabash; mother-in-law, Leola Willis, Macy; two sisters-in-law, Jill Zartman, Rochester; and Janet Sue Sandefur, Logansport; and two brothers-in-law, Montford (Wanda) Willis, Kokomo; and Roger Dale Willis, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband, one brother, Dana Ray Zartman, one brother-in-law, Larry Joe Sandefur. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Bruce Russell and Chaplain Jason See officiating.  Burial will follow in Metea Cemetery, Metea Indiana.

Visitation will be 3-8:00 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton County Cancer Center or Woodlawn Cancer Center.
