Obituary

Jack Ernest Click, 73, and Laurel Lee (Merritt) Click, 72, of Mexico, Indiana, passed away on February 28, 2023, at their residence.  

Jack was born on December 18, 1949, in Peru, Indiana.  He was the son of Max Ernest and Barbara Lee (Hay) Click. Jack was a retired  train engineer for Norfolk & Southern Railroad and had served in the United States Airforce.

Laurel was born on March 26, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was the daughter of William and Florence (Tucker) Merritt.  

Jack and Laurel were married on May 25, 1985, in Peru, Indiana. Together, they had a total of seven children, with Jack’s oldest son, Michael Click, preceding him in death.  

Jack is survived by his children, Alecia (Jim) Davis, Marlayna (Brad) Young, and Max (Lucia) Click; sisters, Connie (Steve) Doud, and Susie Fintz; brother, Terry Click, and several grandchildren. 

Laurel is survived by her children, Tina (Mitch) Douglass, Hank (Rosa) May, and David Kobs; grandson, Caleb; and brother, Al Merritt. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frederick Merritt, William Anderson, and Michael Beaty.

They were both preceded in death by their parents.
