Martha Caroline (Lowe) Mohler

Martha Caroline Lowe Mohler, 93, Kokomo, formerly of Peru, passed away at 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo, Indiana.

Born August 18, 1926, in Peru, Indiana, she was the daughter of Guy and Alma Gertrude Yoder Lowe.  On December 25, 1946, in Miami County, Indiana, she was married to Earl Eugene Mohler, Jr., and he survives.  

She was a graduate of Bunker Hill High School in 1944, and was a longtime member of the Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school for many years.  During WWII, she worked at Essex Wire/Bryan and later at Memcor during the Vietnam era.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, birdwatching, mushroom hunting and baking.  She was an outstanding cook and was known for her excellent pies.  

Survivors include her husband, Earl Eugene Mohler, Jr., Kokomo; one son, Bruce Allen (Jayne) Mohler, Peru; grandson, Shane Allen (Sarah) Mohler, Kokomo; granddaughter, Arianna Leigh (Michael) Wilson, Peru; great-grandson, Abraham Allen Mohler, Kokomo; and two sisters, Dorothy Finster, Greenwood and Betty Finster, Bunker Hill.  Also surviving are her feline companions, Miss Black and Fuzzy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Isabelle Sumpter, Pfc Delbert Leroy Lowe, Donald E. Lowe, Russell Edward Lowe, and Carl Lowe.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren, with Pastors Corky Cordes and Les Cooper officiating.  Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Denver, Indiana. 

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 on Saturday, at the church.
