Rachel P. Wilburn, 87, Peru, Indiana, passed away at 6:47 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at her residence.
Born October 13, 1932, in Winchester, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Cecil and Goldie Sparks Hanks. On September 2, 1961, she was married to Charles V. Wilburn, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1999.
She was a member of the Peru V.F.W., Peru Eagle’s Lodge, and Peru Moose Lodge. She retired from Square D Corporation in Peru. In her younger years, she enjoyed working in the garden and flower beds, and she loved fishing.
Survivors include three children, Mary Correll, Peru; Denise Rabe and companion Charles White, both of Warsaw; and Charles Henry (Cathy) Wilburn, Peru; seven grandchildren, Randal Madden, Mexico; Michelle Hughes, Warsaw; Terry (Maria) Correll, Macy; Laura Whitney and companion Brian Starnes, South Carolina; Debbie Eastridge and companion Sean Coffey, South Carolina; Shane (Tara) Church, Peru; Kayla (Daniel) Galbraith, Peru; nineteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, Linda Whitney and Brenda DePoy, one granddaughter Teresa Correll; one brother, Cephas Hanks; and two sisters, Ruth Dees, and Stella Jane Ferman.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating.
